About Me

IMG_8870In July of 2017, I moved to Barcelona, Spain for my first International Teaching adventure. When I moved, I had three years of teaching experience, had lived in Wisconsin my entire life, and spoke no Spanish.

This fall, I began teaching eighth grade Humanities and English Language Learners at the American School of Barcelona.

This blog – which I began at the end of my third year of living in Madison and teaching in McFarland, Wisconsin – documents my journey as I grow, explore, and make sense of what it means to engage in authentic teaching and learning, one messy middle school day at a time.
